Dr Eugenia Gasparri is a Senior Lecturer in Architectural Technologies at the School of Architecture, Design and Planning of the University of Sydney. She is Associate Dean (Research Education), Stream Director of Sustainable Design in the Master of Architectural Science and former co-chair of the University of Sydney Pride Network (Gold AWAI Awards 2022-2024). She holds a PhD in Building Engineering with honours from Politecnico di Milano.
Eugenia’s research is in sustainable construction with a strong interest in multi-disciplinarity as a key factor for innovation. Her expertise is in the field of building facades and industrialised timber technologies, developing new designs and strategies to reduce buildings’ environmental impact, increase construction productivity and promote circular approaches for sustainable development. She has a proven track record of research collaboration with the industry and is scientific advisor on national and international innovation industry-led projects. Eugenia is the leading editor of an agenda-setting book on the future of building façades – “Rethinking Building Skins: Transformative Technologies and Research Trajectories” – which brings together more than 60 global innovators from both academia and industry, from 10 different countries across 3 continents.
